I have always been drawn to the stories of interesting people—those who create emotions, shape matter, or care for animals. Stories of people who make a difference. I wanted to look deep inside, there where they find their strength and motivation. Deep beneath the surface.
I had the opportunity to look into a world of colors and canvases—a world where emotions and thoughts are literally etched into the image. I spoke with Jan Svoboda about his youth and what led him to become a painter, what drives him. From modeling nativity scenes to thousands of paintings sold. There are different types of painters, and as he describes himself, he belongs to the intuitive kind. I am miles away from an artist of his caliber, and there is a vast difference between our processes. I think everything through, plan every detail, and emotions only arise on the canvas. As an intuitive painter, he projects feelings directly into his work, and the image comes into being somewhat by chance—but not entirely. Thousands of paintings and decades of practice shape his skill—and also the quality. Follow his story.

I am a filmmaker, documentarist, and environmental ambassador. I tell stories—through film and photography—about those shaping a sustainable world. From mezcal distilleries in Mexico to Moravian vineyards, I capture narratives that matter. I also craft experiences in UI/UX design and create music. When I'm not behind the camera, I travel, drink good wine, and enjoy great whiskey.
